Not Me! Monday

The following are things I have NOT done:

I did not forget how long it had been since I had given Nate a bath.  I always keep track of that and bathe him regularly.  It most certainly had not been so long that I couldn't even remember the last time I had done it.  I'm sure it was this week sometime.  Or at the very least, last week.

Today, I did not end up in the garage holding a basket of laundry for several confused seconds, wondering why I was standing in the garage holding a basket of laundry.  Nope, not me I know where the laundry room is in my own home!

This week you would not have found me walking around Target with a large pineapple (yes, they have pineapples!) with the intention of setting it down somewhere to take a picture of it.  Nope, I'm really not that odd or desperate to take an original picture.

And lastly, today I did not take Nate grocery shopping while Ryan and my brother-in-law went to move/organize our storage unit only to get everything rung up and realize I could not find my debit card. I did not then hand the cashier an expired credit card to use.  Further, I did not ask the nice cashier to suspend my transaction while I very calmly tried to dig through my purse and pockets in search of said debit card.  It was not me who then, upon realizing that I had lost my debit card, called my husband and told him he had to come with money, pronto.  I then did not change my mind and call my mom so my husband could finish what he was doing instead.  The nice woman at Jewel did not try to make me feel better by telling me while I waited 15 minutes for my mom to arrive, that "this kind of thing happens at least a dozen times a day" and how cute Nate was to take away from my obvious embarrassment. And when my mom finally called and said, "I'm here behind the registers, where are you?" it did not just then dawn on me that I may not have checked my coat pocket where I did NOT find my debit card that I thought was lost.  No, not me, I would never be that scatter-brained!

And as for my mom who came to save the day?  She did not go the Jewel in city A when I very clearly told her we were at the Jewel in city B.  At least I know where I get it from!

Not Me! Monday

It's back!

Are you feeling guilty for making a whole batch of chocolate fudge brownies that you know your husband wouldn't like just so you could eat them yourself? Embarassed that you found fruit rotting and molding in the back of the refridgerator? Hope no one noticed that your child wore the same outfit two days in a row? Well don't be! Not Me! Monday was born out of one woman's desire (MckMomma to be exact) to admit some of her imperfections and reveal a few moments she'd rather forget. I found it therapeutic to join in and do the same thing! Maybe you would, too!

This week I most certainly did not run the dishwasher numerous times, even though it was not full, just so I wouldn't have to wash bottles. Again. Nope, not me!

I also did not convince my husband that we absolutely needed a steam mop which cost $80. No, I didn't convince my husband we needed said mop just because I am too lazy, I mean busy, to get down on my hands and knees and do it the old fashioned way.

Over the past couple weeks I definately did not notice that a large pile of junk was accumulating at the bottom of the stairs. This pile of junk did not sit just downstairs of the front door where it was perfectly noticable (if not obvious) for all who entered to see. No, I would certainly have taken care of that before it got out of control with bags of food that needed to go to church, many, many pairs of shoes, a drying rack with clothes, a large package of toilet paper and other miscellaneous items strewn about. Nope, not me! I keep a tidy house at all times!

And finally, I did not use the chocolate milk my husband bought (because they were buy 1 get 1) as a substitute for regular milk just because we were out and I didn't get around to (or feel like) going to the store. Nope, not me!

I'd love to hear what you didn't do this week!

Here goes...

I follow a couple other blogs who do this "Not me!" Monday thing but I have never really been brave enough to join the bandwagon. However, after reading over some of them the other night before heading to bed, I actally laid there with a small smile on my face, thinking "Wow. I am actually normal!" Initally, reading other mommy blogs made me feel like I wasn't doing enough. I actually thought these women were, well, perfect. So not the case. But in a good way! And I thought if they could admit their imperfections then I could too! Hopefully I am not going too far out on a limb here. Well, anyway, lets get on with it.

(Drumroll, please)

Not me Monday was born out of one mother's desire to admit her imperfections and moments she'd rather forget. Lets face it, we all have these moments! So, without further ado, here are some things I did NOT do this week:

In preparing to return to work yesterday, I certainly did not realize that I still hadn't organized our linnen closet. Which was one of the top things on my "list of things to do this summer". I always get things done and would never go an entire three months without getting around to organizing one simple closet. That would be ridiculous, and definately something I would not do!

After hanging out with my sister-in-law, mother-in-law, and neice and nephew at the local water park, it did not occur to me that it had been awhile since Nathan had lunch. Upon further thought, I did not realize that he had lunch nearly 6 hours ago and should have been starving by now! I would never be so wrapped up in tubing down a lazy river that I would forget to feed my own baby! No, not me!

And upon learning that it had been ,ahem , a few hours since his last feeding, I certainly did not just give him a bottle to tide him over until we got to the place where we all were eating dinner so I could feed him there. And this place did not happen to be Chipotle, which I most certainly do not have an addiction to. And if we did go there, I would never even dream of feeding my 14 month old Chipotle rice and guacamole for dinner. No way, I only feed him healthy, nutritous food!

And lastly, this evening, after deciding that it was time to start weaning him off the paci once and for all, I did not go into his room when he was fussing with the intention of calmly soothing him back to sleep without the paci. No, I didn't go in there, not even slightly annoyed that I had to leave my post at the computer, and just give in within the first 30 seconds just so I could get back to what I was doing. Nope, I would never give in that easily! Not me!

Whew, that felt good! Now that I was brave enough to share...lets see if you are! What things did you NOT do this week?

Not me!

Today while Nathan was napping I decided to be productive and boil some carrots for his dinner. After I put the pan on the stove, I certainly did not walk away and go on the computer to check out what was happening on Facebook. I would never leave food cooking in the kitchen unattended. And I certainly did not finish checking Facebook and move on to some other blog sites where there was mention of some very comfortable shoes that I happened to like. And I didn't go shopping on the web looking for these shoes. And I certainly did not then decide this would be a good time to catch up on this blog, since Nathan was asleep. No, I didn't do all this while the carrots were boiling away in the other room. That would be careless of me. And the only reason I realized I had forgotten about them was NOT because I smelled something burning as I was typing away and uploading pictures. No, not me! I am attentive and never get distracted by things on the internet!
