Friday nights at Target

I simply can not put into words my love for Target (and I know you all know what I mean!)  I have been making a habit out of taking Nate there on Friday nights every now and then just to let him explore and have lots of room to wheel around in his chair.  I was worried about the reactions I might get at first, but they have all been positive (duh, it's Target nothing bad ever happens there!)

Here are a few pics from one of our trips (where we now get front row parking with our handy dandy handicap placard!)

(I only took these three pictures.  I thought that a two year old in a little wheel chair was enough to make people stare without his momma snapping pictures like the paparazzi.  I think I just need to get over it, though!)

Bellaboo's

I've been wanting to blog about this for awhile, but I had taken so many pictures that I was overwhelmed.  Finally, I made a bunch of collages in Picasa and called it a day.

I've lived in NW Indiana for nearly 5 years and just heard about this place from a neighbor recently.
And as soon as I heard about it I knew Nate would love it.  We took him there over Christmas break (gosh, I'm so far behind!) and it was a huge hit.

They have all these differently themed rooms where kids can play.  For example, there is an art room where Nate got a chance to paint (my favorite, being the art teacher I am!),

and a water room where he got to play in a river of running water,

a play kitchen where he made a few meals 

and a pretend store where all he wanted to buy was a small roll,

and a dress-up room.

And these were only the rooms we got to that day-they have even more!  Nate really enjoyed himself, and I really enjoyed watching him explore on his own.  He actually threw a small fit when it was time to go.  Can't wait to go back!

Finally

Finally!

Go baby go!

All Nathan wants to do is move around, inchworm style, and poke, grab, point at and otherwise feel EVERYTHING and ANYTHING. It is so fun watching him move about, considering this and that, first cautiously touching (sometimes with his forehead-?) then moving on to find something else interesting to check out. One of his favorite games is to send one of his stacking cups or rings flying then inchworm his way to it, then send it flying in another direction and hurridly chase it again. It's to the point now where he doesn't even want to be held...he just squirms and squirms until you put him on the floor. And, more recently, he can't even sit still in his bed. Nope, all he wants to do is roll over and stick his hands out the side of the crib. I've found him asleep in this position the past two nights!



Started out by the window, checking out the curtain that was blowing in the breeze.



Then he spotted mommy with the camera and made his way over.



Wait! What's that?



What IS this thing anyway?



Off to check out more furniture.



I think I'll stop and check out this thing for awhile.



Someday soon, I'll be able to catch you doggy!

Mr. Adventerous

Nathan has REALLY been getting around lately. So much so that the Grandmas are freaking over putting a gate at the top of the stairs (and rightfully so). Last night he was being exceptionally adventerous and was daring to maneuver through all the chair legs under our dining room table. He only bumped his head a couple times, but you live and you learn! Here are some photos from his escapade.
