Nate got a haircut

Nate's first hair cut

Okay, I ended up giving in. He was starting to look a little like the Donald. We went to a really cute place called "Pigtails and Crew cuts". When we got there they asked what he liked to watch on tv (um...he's 13 months old, he doesn't watch tv!) They had little TVs at each station, and I must say the Elmo DVD they picked did help him stay focused and hold his head still. He was such a good boy, didn't get scared but was more curious than anything. I didn't think he had that much hair to cut but as I was sitting there the stylist just kept cutting and more and more hair kept falling. They saved some of it and Nathan got a little certificate with a picture and a lock of his hair as a keepsake. That made me feel a little better. 20 minutes and $22 bucks later (seriously, for a few snips...really!) I had an older, more maintained looking little boy! I am definately glad we did it. After his nap today it looked the same, no pouf or crazy pieces sticking out. It's sad to think that we have used up most of those firsts...

Too bad she couldn't have cut my hair while we were at it...it's really too long!


Since he didn't get to sit in the "fun" chairs we let him try one out for his pic on the certificate. Ryan chose this one even though there was a much more size appropriate one next to it. When I asked why, his response was "I'm not letting him sit in a firetruck!" I must have momentarily forgot the whole cops are better than firemen thing...my mistake!
