Nate-isms

We walk into his room and I turn on the light.

Can you see me now?

Nate is spinning circles in his wheel chair.

Me: Nate, you're going to get dizzy!

He stops and gets excited, waving his arms.

Nate: I'm gunna get BUSY!

Nate is playing on the floor with his beloved Wonder Pets.  I ask him what they are doing.

Nate: They're going to the grocery store to get food.

Me: What do you think they like to eat? (Expecting him to say celery since that's what they always eat after saving the animals.)

Nate: They like to drink coffee.

We went to Indianapolis over Spring Break (still have to blog about that).  One of the days we were there we went to the Indy zoo.  Nate asked repeatedly to see the rhinos.

How bout we see the rhino?

Can we see the rhino now?

We finally get to the rhinos.  Nate takes a quick look.

We saw muskrats at the Indy zoo.  A few weeks later, we saw them on a tv show.  I couldn't remember what they were called. 

Me: Look Nate!  It's those animals we saw at the zoo. Um, I think they're called...

Nate: They're called Muskrats.

Me: (laughing) Yes, that's exactly right.

It's time for lunch.  We are sitting at the kitchen sink washing his hands.

Nate: It's bery sprinkly.

Nate is playing with the stuffed puppy we got him for Valentine's Day, which we so cleverly named Chocolate.

He's a good friend.

It's Mother's Day.  I'm getting Nate ready for bed.  I ask him for a nice Mother's Day hug.  He complies, wrapping his arms tight around my neck.  Then he pulls away, looks at me and says,

How about a nice Mother's Day kiss?

A few weeks ago we had his preschool evaluation.  He was able to see the classroom and interact with the kids, even having snack time with them.  He loved it!  A few days later he is moving all over his crib.

Me: Nate, where are you trying to go?

Nate: To preschool!
