A busy month

October is going to be a busy month for us. Ryan and I will be celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary on the 21st. Ryan's grandpa is turning 86 on the 22nd. My sister and brother-in-law are coming home (yes, again!) on the 24th, and this visit is packed with extra excitement! We'll be scaring the animals (or they'll be scaring us) for Boo! at the zoo. And then, of course, there is Halloween!

It's also a month of doctor visits. Tomorrow Ryan and I are headed up to Chicago to see Dr Z., Nate's ophthamologist. Nathan's eyes are still crossing-I actually think it may have gotten a little worse, and I fear we are headed for surgery to correct it. It's an outpatient surgery, but if he needs it will mark his 5th one! In a couple weeks we are headed back to Shriner's Hospital to meet with orthopedic specialists to check on Nate's hip dysplasia and scoliosis. It always makes for a long day. And finally, on November 5th (okay, so it's not actually in October, but close enough, right?) Nathan is having another MRI to check if his revised shunt has helped his syrinx (fluid build-up in his spine). He will need to be sedated again, but won't need to stay in the hospital overnight like last time. We (thankfully) haven't had to deal with many doctors since his shunt revision in July so it's always sort of tough to go through various appointments like this. If you could keep Nate in your prayers this month (and into the first week of November) we would surely be grateful!
